Bio
Influenced by at an early age by his father who was a disc jockey for hire; Aaron Schafer, aka Aasch had always longed to be involved with music. During high school in the late 90’s he discovered bands such as The Prodigy, Daft Punk, KMFDM, Revolting Cocks, and Jamiroquai.
He was invited to be the DJ of a handful of friends’ house parties where his modest setup started out as a tape deck, a personal CD player, the CD drive from aTurboGrafx 16 and a home stereo. Although he had no mixer he managed to segue the songs by switching the cables fast enough to be perceived as a mix.
In 1995 there was a local ‘rave’ party scene budding which drove him deeper into the thirst for involvement. The current local DJs at this time were more privy to Hard Techno, Trance, and Jungle; but one DJ in particular struck a beat in his heart. Aasch had heard his first House track - Todd Terry’s Keep on Jumpin’ spun by DJ Brian Scott.
His tastes immediately began to lean toward house music. Living in South Bend, Indiana which happened to be just an hour and a half from Chicago, IL he would sometimes with great endeavor, be able to tune into Chicago’s B96 to hear Bad Boy Bill and DJ Markski.
